Phonak Battery Cost

Battery Cost Comparisons

Spring 2019.

Phonak and Oticon both use Rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries.

Size 312 batteries cost approximately $40 annually for 2 hearing aids. That amounts to $200 over the course of 5 years. Therefore the rechageable battery system is cost-effective.

Size 13 batteries  cost approximately $20 annually for 2 hearing aids. That amounts to $100 over the course of 5 years. (size 13 batteries are about twice as big as the smaller 312 batteries and therefore last approximately twice as long). Their is no significant cost difference between the disposable and rechargeable battery systems.

The Rechargeable feature is very convenient and is preferred when patients have dexterity issues or tremors. Many patients prefer the convenience of rechargeable batteries.

Assumption: The above comparisons assume that hearing aid users are purchasing Mercury-Free Rayovac batteries at prices similiar to the prices offered at our offices.
